Pablo Pérez
Zañartu Award: Recognition to the Chilean
Cultural Heritage Corporation
The
award was given for its work on the valorization
of the patrimony and national identity´s consolidation.
Represented by its Executive Vice-President, Cecilia
García-Huidobro, the Chilean Cultural Heritage
Corporation was given on November 25th the Pablo
Pérez Zañartu Award 2002, for its
work on the patrimonial conservation and national
identity's consolidation.
Since its birth, this award has been given to people,
institutions or foundations based on a double dimension:
one physical, referred to material works and management,
and one spiritual, orientated to the recognition
of a job that influences a country's thought and
culture, strengthening national values.
As receiving the award, Cecilia García-Huidobro
pointed out that the Corporation's goal, through
all of its projects -including its website- has
been to create a conscience about cultural identity,
and then renew and widen the heritage concept, understanding
it as something live which should involve community
as a whole. .
